Terms of Service

Last updated: April 15, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your purchase and use of products and services from HF Diverter Company (“we,” “us,” or “our”) and your use of our website at hfdiverter.com. Please read carefully — placing an order or using our services means you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please do not place an order.

Agreement

By placing an order through our website, calling to schedule service, or otherwise engaging HF Diverter Company, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, have the legal authority to enter into this agreement, and accept these Terms in full. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the complete agreement between you and HF Diverter Company.

Custom Product Orders

The HF Diverter is a custom-fabricated product, built to the specific door measurements you provide at checkout. Each unit is manufactured individually after your order is placed — we do not stock pre-made inventory.

By placing an order you understand and agree:

  • Each diverter is built to order using the measurements you submit at checkout (height, width, and length of the track area, plus any special notes).
  • Pricing shown on the website (starting at $150 per door at the time of writing) varies by door track size. See our homeowners page for current pricing by size tier.
  • Order acceptance occurs when we begin fabrication, not when you submit payment. We reserve the right to decline an order if measurements appear incorrect or the configuration is incompatible with our product.
  • Payment is processed at checkout by Stripe. We do not store your full payment card information.

Measurement Responsibility

Because we build each diverter to your specifications, you are responsible for the accuracy of the measurements you provide. We provide measurement instructions on our homeowners page and offer to verify your measurements before fabrication if you email us a photo of your sliding door track with a tape measure visible.

If your measurements are incorrect:

  • If you discover the error before fabrication starts — contact us immediately at (954) 560-3015 or HFDiverter@gmail.com. We can typically update your order at no charge.
  • If you discover the error after fabrication has started or after delivery — we’ll work with you to remake the diverter. You will be responsible for the cost of materials and shipping for the remake. We do this at our cost, not for profit.
Want help getting it right the first time? Email us a photo of your slider track with a tape measure visible — we’ll review your measurements before fabrication begins. This is free and prevents most fitment issues.

Cancellation & Refunds

Before fabrication starts

You may cancel your order for a full refund any time before we begin fabrication. Fabrication typically begins within 1–3 business days after your order is placed. To cancel, contact us by phone or email as soon as possible.

After fabrication has started

Once we have begun fabricating your custom diverter, your order is non-cancellable and non-refundable, except in the cases described below. This is industry-standard practice for custom-built goods. The materials and labor invested in your specific unit cannot be recovered.

Defective or damaged on arrival

If your HF Diverter arrives damaged or has a workmanship defect, contact us within 14 days of delivery with photos. We will, at our option, either replace the unit at no charge or issue a full refund. This is in addition to your warranty rights described below.

Doesn’t fit due to our error

If we made an error in fabrication and the diverter doesn’t fit the measurements you provided, we will remake the unit at no charge and cover return shipping. Notify us within 30 days of delivery.

Doesn’t fit due to incorrect measurements

If the diverter doesn’t fit because the measurements provided at checkout were incorrect, see Measurement Responsibility above. We can remake the unit at the cost of materials and shipping.

No general returns on custom products. Because each HF Diverter is built specifically for your door, we cannot accept returns for change of mind, buyer’s remorse, or because installation was harder than expected. Please review the product details and measurement instructions carefully before ordering.

[REVIEW WITH ATTORNEY] This refund policy reflects standard practice for custom-built goods sold in Florida. A small-business attorney should review and confirm the specific language before launch to ensure compliance with Florida consumer protection law and any platform-specific requirements (e.g., Stripe’s policies).

Shipping & Delivery

  • Fabrication time — typically 7–10 business days after order placement and measurement confirmation.
  • Shipping — we ship within the United States via standard ground carriers (USPS, UPS, or FedEx). You’ll receive a tracking number by email once your order ships.
  • Shipping costs — included in the listed product price for U.S. domestic shipping unless otherwise noted at checkout.
  • International shipping — not currently offered through online checkout. If you’re outside the U.S., contact us at HFDiverter@gmail.com for a custom quote.
  • Risk of loss — passes to you upon delivery to the carrier. If your package is lost or damaged in transit, contact us immediately and we’ll work with the carrier to resolve the claim.

Product Warranty

Every HF Diverter comes with a 1-Year Limited Workmanship Warranty from the date of delivery.

What’s covered

  • Defects in materials and workmanship under normal use
  • Failure of the aluminum profile or integrated security knob due to manufacturing fault

What’s not covered

  • Damage from improper installation by the customer or third party
  • Damage from impact, abuse, modification, or use outside the product’s intended purpose
  • Cosmetic wear from normal use over time
  • Issues caused by incorrect measurements provided at checkout
  • Damage from extreme weather events beyond the product’s design specifications

How to make a warranty claim

Contact us at (954) 560-3015 or HFDiverter@gmail.com with your order number and photos of the issue. We’ll determine whether the issue is covered and, if so, repair, replace, or refund at our option.

The warranty is our promise to stand behind the work. We’re a small Florida company — when you call about a warranty issue, you reach the same people who built your diverter. We’ll make it right.

Installation Disclaimer

The HF Diverter is designed for customer self-installation. The product drops into the existing track of a sliding door without drilling, caulking, or door modification.

By purchasing, you understand:

  • You are responsible for installing the product on your own door (or arranging professional installation at your own expense).
  • We provide written installation instructions, but we are not responsible for damage to your sliding door, door frame, flooring, or any other property caused by improper installation.
  • If you are not comfortable installing the product yourself, we recommend hiring a qualified handyman or contractor. Local handyman labor for this type of install typically takes under one hour.

Service Work Terms (South Florida)

For property managers, HOAs, and customers within our South Florida service area (Broward, Palm Beach, Miami-Dade, and Martin counties), we offer in-person services including building audits, professional installation, and the Coastal Slider Protection Program.

  • Free Slider Health Audits — performed at no cost on one stack of units per building. There is no obligation to purchase. We provide a written report.
  • Service quotes — provided in writing with itemized pricing. No hidden fees.
  • Workmanship guarantee on service work — if you’re not satisfied with our installation work, we’ll make necessary repairs or adjustments at no additional cost during the warranty period (1 year from completion).
  • Insurance — we maintain general liability and product liability insurance. Documentation available on request.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Florida law:

  • Our total liability for any claim arising from your purchase or use of our products is limited to the amount you paid for the product.
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost profits, lost data, property damage from improper installation, or business interruption.
  • The HF Diverter is designed to significantly reduce water intrusion under normal storm conditions. We do not guarantee 100% prevention of water intrusion in every conceivable storm event. Performance depends on proper installation, door condition, and storm severity.

Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limitations of liability — those provisions may not apply to you.

[REVIEW WITH ATTORNEY] Liability limitations on a custom product sold to consumers should be reviewed by counsel familiar with Florida consumer protection law and the specific language enforceable for this product category.

Intellectual Property

The HF Diverter is a U.S. patented product. The product design, the “HF Diverter” name, the HF Diverter Company logo, and the contents of this website (text, graphics, images, photographs) are the property of HF Diverter Company and protected by U.S. copyright, trademark, and patent law.

You may not reproduce, copy, sell, or commercially use any of these materials without prior written permission. Reverse-engineering, manufacturing, or selling copies of the diverter product is prohibited and may violate our patent rights.

Customer testimonials and reviews shared on this site are used with the customer’s permission.

Disputes & Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or your purchase from HF Diverter Company will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Broward County, Florida.

Before filing a formal dispute, we ask that you contact us first at (954) 560-3015 or HFDiverter@gmail.com. Most issues can be resolved by talking to us directly.

[REVIEW WITH ATTORNEY] Some businesses include a binding arbitration clause and class-action waiver here. Whether to include one depends on Howard’s preferences and Florida-specific enforceability — discuss with counsel.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted prominently on the site. Your continued use of our website or services after a change indicates acceptance of the updated Terms.

The Terms in effect at the time of your order govern that order — subsequent changes do not retroactively affect orders already placed.
