How to Measure Your Slider
We build each diverter custom to your door. Three measurements with a tape measure — Height, Width, and Length. You’ll enter them at checkout.
Height (H)
If your sliding glass door has a door stop mounted on it, measure from the bottom of the track to the top of the stop. This gives us the height of the diverter so it fits flush without interfering with the door stop.
Width (W)
Measure from the inside of the bottom door frame to the inside of the inner track. This is the width of the channel the diverter sits in — it tells us how wide to fabricate the profile so it seats properly in your track.
Length (L)
Measure on the inside of the frame, from the wall to the sliding glass door panel that moves. This is the length of the diverter — the section of exposed track it will occupy when the door is closed. This measurement determines your size tier and price.

Common Questions
How long does it take to ship after I order?
Each HF Diverter is custom-fabricated to your measurements after you order, so we typically build and ship within 7–10 business days. You’ll get a tracking number by email once it leaves the shop. If you need it faster for an upcoming storm, email us — we can sometimes expedite.
What if my measurements are wrong?
If the diverter doesn’t fit because of a measurement issue on your end, we’ll work with you to make it right — typically by remaking it for the cost of materials. To avoid this entirely, send us a photo through our contact form with a tape measure visible and we’ll confirm before fabrication.
How hard is the installation?
The diverter drops into the existing track of your sliding door. No drilling, no power tools, no door removal, no caulking. Most homeowners install it in under an hour with the included instructions. If you’re handy enough to change a light fixture, you can install this.
Will it work on my impact glass / hurricane-rated slider?
Yes. The HF Diverter installs into the bottom track of the door — it doesn’t interact with the glass itself. It works with impact-rated, hurricane-rated, and standard sliding doors equally well. In fact, several customers installed it after their new storm doors continued to leak.
Can I see what it looks like installed?
Yes — check out the install gallery on our homepage showing the diverter in different homes (travertine, wood floor, marble, corner doors). The diverter sits low in the track and reads as a clean white plastic bar — most visitors don’t even notice it.
What’s the warranty?
Every HF Diverter comes with a 1-year workmanship warranty. The marine-grade polymer is rated to handle decades of salt air and UV, but if you have any issue with build quality in the first year, we’ll repair or replace it.
Do you ship internationally?
Currently we ship within the United States. If you’re outside the U.S. and interested, send us a message and we’ll see what we can do — shipping cost will depend on your location.
